As employees, we’re fairly certain you know the concept of retiring pretty well. In fact, for most of us, that’s the end goal. Work hard, climb the corporate ladder, and eventually ride off into the post-work sunset ready to see the world and enjoy your golden years. But, while some may still want to follow that path, a new concept is starting to emerge called unretirement.
Sharlyn Lauby of HR Bartender breaks down some major benefits and explains why HR should start familiarizing themselves with the concept in the blog post “7 Reasons HR Needs to Learn About Unretirement“.
“There’s an emerging conversation about unretirement. It’s the idea that you don’t have to retire. You can work on the things you want and do more of the things you enjoy. And it’s not necessarily age-based. Professionals of all ages are planning for it. Human resources needs to take note of this trend. It’s one that could benefit HR and organizations in many ways.” Sharlyn Lauby, www.hrbartender.com/2017/recruiting/7-reasons-hr-needs-learn-unretirement/ (Follow @hrbartender)
